Many good things to see and learn about Chinese art and culture !!

In March 2024, while cycling to Hualien Harbor, I stumbled upon the Venus Art Gallery and was utterly awestruck. When I deliberately passed by again later, the gallery had already closed. Recently, with my time in Hualien nearing its end, I unexpectedly found the gallery on Zhongmei Road. Although the exhibition scale couldn't compare to the one at the harbor, a painting of a dragon palace messenger on the right side of the entrance was still breathtaking. Coupled with the gallery owner's warm sharing, it remained a place that deeply moved me. I still hope that one day the gallery can reappear at Hualien Harbor (or another more suitable venue), allowing more people to experience its beauty.

The guesthouse owner recommended this free indoor attraction. We went around 3 PM on April 1st, and perhaps because of the light drizzle, there were still plenty of parking spaces available. There were many boats to see; upon arrival, we saw what appeared to be a sightseeing boat carrying many tourists. Later, as we were leaving, we saw a coast guard vessel, and the coast guard personnel waved back – awesome! Then we arrived at the main attraction: the art gallery. We saw many artworks and antique items; it was truly quaint and charming… unfortunately, I don't understand art and couldn't appreciate their value. A child learning piano was very excited to see a piano. After asking a staff member and learning that it could be played, the child happily performed several songs taught in class. Otherwise, a child in this kind of place would probably only ask, "Are we leaving?" There's a path next to it that leads to a bridge, across the railway tracks to a bike path. There was a building nearby that looked increasingly familiar; it turned out to be an 85°C restaurant I had visited two and a half years ago. C, I thought the bloggers had hyped it up too much, but when I actually came to see it, I didn't think much of it. It wasn't until I arrived that I remembered seeing news about its closure before, which was truly disheartening… For a free attraction, it's pretty great. You can buy and send postcards, and there are artworks to take photos with. It's a great spot for a 1-2 hour visit!
