Mount Yuemei, the highest point of Taiwan's Lesser Hundred Peaks (#90), and the northernmost point of the Coastal Mountain Range. Mount Yuemei is located in Shoufeng Township, Hualien County, with an elevation of 614 meters. It is Taiwan's Lesser Hundred Peaks (#90). The trail is 4.8 kilometers long, with entrances on both the north and south sides. The trail is lush with trees, providing almost no direct sunlight. It is recommended to enter from the south entrance, as the trail is wide and gentle, suitable for family hikes. A round trip can be easily completed in under 2 hours. One side offers panoramic views of the Central Mountain Range, the East Rift Valley, and the Hualien River flowing into the sea, while the other side offers stunning views of the Pacific Ocean. The triangular point is surrounded by tall trees, offering no views. Parking is convenient.

One of the Lesser 100 Peaks It's a short hike from the south trailhead. The trail is well-marked and the route is gentle, with almost no difficulty. There are no panoramic views from the summit. It's important to note that the trailhead is a public road, not the green dotted line shown on Google Maps. Please pay attention to this.

Mount Yuemei, also known as Mizhan Mountain, has an elevation of 614 meters and is a first-class triangulation point. It is one of the "Little 100 Peaks" and located in Shoufeng Township, Hualien County. It is the only national trail on the Coastal Mountain Range. Mount Yuemei has two trailheads, one in the north and one in the south. The trail is 4.8 kilometers long, with the triangulation point located at the middle 2.4 kilometers. We hiked with our children. The trail maintains its original appearance and is easy to walk, making it suitable for families to enjoy hiking and sightseeing together. Originally, we planned to enter from the south trailhead. Driving onto County Road 38-1, a narrow, winding industrial road, we encountered a road closure before reaching the trailhead. We then changed our route to the north trailhead, located behind the Farglory Yue Lai Hotel. Driving to the Shanling Fude Temple, we entered a narrow, winding, and poorly maintained industrial road, barely wide enough for one car. Driving on this road, we felt quite apprehensive, but there was nowhere to turn back, so we had to keep going. Thankfully, there were no other vehicles along the way. After nearly 22 minutes, we finally saw the trailhead. If you want to enter from the north trailhead, it's recommended to use a motorcycle or bicycle, as there's no way to pass other cars (on the return trip, we encountered some local vehicles coming down the mountain, but thankfully, we didn't have any problems passing each other). Entering from the north trailhead, the entire area is covered by trees, offering little visibility. The road was slippery after the rain the previous day, so we had to drive carefully.
